yes and no. i like to think that in some ways we do reward hard work. But I know we are cultivating a generation of students that want to come out of school and go right to the top just “because”. They don’t want to wok their way up.

I don’t really see hard work being rewarded much anymore. In school it seems as if we reward the heck out of kids for doing the bare minimum. We don’t seem to reward them as much for working hard. I don’t really see teachers being rewarded for hard work except for getting more work to do. I agree with Craig that kids seem to have a sense of entitlement.

We seem to forget that kids do work hard and the negative things take over. We also seem to forget that if a kid doesn’t make an A – he/she did not work hard. If you want to see kids working hard – come to ATO lab around 5 – 7 pm!

I believe it often is however there are those who took the shortcut and they too are rewarded. Makes me think he rains of the just and the unjust….
I read the comments above and find that on some level I agree with all the previous posts.
I completely agree with Craig…yes and no
Sadly like Karen states, those who work hardest are not always championed or appreciated and more and more our culture in general seems to have an entitlement hang-up.
And Rene is right many kids these days face negative obstacles that often take over. It is heart rendering.
