Some children have the capability to take the bulldozer shove and run ahead of it but others would fall and get run over by the comment. Going back to the self-judgement thing .
Depending on the person–the shove needs to be like a bulldozer or they won’t feel the shove while others will be propelled by just a small breath of wind.

It is amazing how kids are made! Even two kids that come from the same parents – made the same way can be so different. This chapter reminds me of a song from Lee Ann Womack called “I Hope You Dance” speaks volumes. Kids are true gifts from GOD!! They are what drives us!!

-Have you ever felt that way? Absolutely words can be just as or more hurtful than a physical blow. Not only is this true for a child but an adult. We sometimes need the shove; the truth is not always pleasant but it can be direct without being disrespectful thereby bringing personal growth. I think the blow comes when the offhanded comment is intended to sting not bring actual insight, growth, knowledge, and hope.
